Dominik assists clients in highly emotional and complicated care proceedings. He is regularly instructed to represent local authorities, parents and the children’s guardian at initial hearings, EPOs and ICOs through to contested multi-day final hearings and fact-finding hearings.

Dominik is also regularly asked to advise lay and professional clients on legal issues and strategic approaches in a variety of complex and difficult cases.

Dominik also represents local authorities, parents, and the children’s guardian in deprivation of liberty cases.

  • Re S (2024 – ongoing) – Dominik is representing the local authority in a fact-finding hearing. The allegations against the mother and an intervenor revolved around serious non-accidental injury allegations to a young child as well as allegations of domestic violence. Dominik was instructed by the local authority from the start of proceedings and remains involved to date.
  • Re K (2024 – ongoing) – Dominik is representing a local authority in a complicated public law case concerning allegations of sexual abuse and physical abuse of a young child as well as serious allegations of neglect, domestic violence, drug use, and mental health concerns. Dominik was instructed by the local authority from the start of proceedings and remains involved to date.
  • Re K (2024) – Dominik represented the local authority in a difficult public law case concerning allegations of non-accidental injury as well as concerns regarding neglect. Dominik represented the local authority at a combined fact-finding / final hearing where he successfully obtained findings of non-accidental injury against the suspected perpetrators.
  • Re P (2024) – Dominik represented the mother in a public law case where his client was in the pool of potential perpetrators regarding a number of suspected non-accidental injuries. Dominik was instructed to represent the mother at the fact-finding hearing.
  • Re Y (2023 -2024) – Dominik was junior counsel representing the children’s guardian in a very severe neglect and malnutrition case in the High Court. Dominik was involved at the fact-finding hearing and the final hearing.
  • Re P (2023) – Dominik was junior counsel representing the local authority in a public law case where there were extensive concerns regarding fabricated induced illness and domestic violence to both adults and children. Dominik was involved in the fact-finding hearing where findings were successfully obtained against the mother regarding fabricated induced illness.
  • Re B (2022) – Dominik was junior counsel representing the local authority in a fact-finding hearing in a very severe non-accidental injury case in the High Court where numerous injuries had been caused to a very young child, including a fracture to the skull. Findings were successfully obtained against the suspected perpetrators.
