The claimant’s husband sustained a fracture to his right femur following a fall. He attended the defendant hospital where he contracted MRSA. He was discharged but subsequently diagnosed with C Diff. After several weeks he died of complications from the infection.
The key issue was where he had contracted both MRSA and C Diff. Expert evidence demonstrated poor systems of infection prevention and control. Liability was admitted subsequent to service of expert evidence.
