Who Should Attend?
St John’s Children’s team are hosting a topical webinar on acting unlawfully and in breach of regulations – when will the court allow this? The speakers will look at the different approaches in cases of placement orders and deprivation of liberty.
Topics include:
- Practical implications of the decision of Roberts J in Somerset County Council v The Primary Cohort Children & Others on current proceedings, placement orders and adoption orders. Presented by Julia Belyavin
- Why the court will permit local authorities to act outside regulations in the context of deprivation of liberty and the inherent jurisdiction. What are the different public policy considerations that apply in this area which don’t apply to breach of the Adoption Regulations? Presented by Sarah Phillimore
