Matthew White of our Personal Injury team has prepared the below special damages calculator for use from this website. It allows for changes in the special account rate over time. Enter the start date and end date of the period over which you want to calculate the total special account interest rate (or half rate) in the pink boxes. If you also want the interest sum calculated for you, enter the total on which you want interest calculated at SAR (or half SAR) in the purple box.
Note that the most recent change to the special account rate included in the above calculations was the change to 4.75% on 06/12/24. Any subsequent changes have yet to be included in the calculation. Matthew intends to keep this calculator up to date, but there is likely to be a short delay after each rate change.
