We are saddened to report the untimely passing of David Fletcher.

He died on the 18th September 2019 as a result of a heart attack aged 73.

David joined chambers in 1999, having previously practised from Albion Chambers and was a busy member of our chancery and commercial team, often involved in complex, long running and high-value disputes.

He had a reputation for his planning and public law work and notable cases in which he had been involved included a successful judicial review of the HS2 High Speed Rail link.

Having started his career as a lecturer, he recently returned to teaching part-time as a Senior Associate Lecturer at Bristol University.

He had a passion for classical music, hill walking, travel and sailing and was also a keen skier.

Those who knew him will remember him for his keen sense of humour and sharp wit.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with David’s family at this sad time.

The funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday 11th October 2019 at St Nicholas’ Church, St Nicholas Way, Brockley. This will be followed by private committal for family only.

The family request that anyone wishing to send flowers please send them direct to the Funeral Directors and for no lilies.
