On 2nd March 2023 Justin Valentine contributed to an NHS England webinar on the new national pathway, Spinal Surgery: National Suspected Cauda Equina Syndrome (CES) Pathway. Justin, who has a speciality in CES cases and is listed as a contributor to the pathway, reviewed and analysed the recommendations from a legal perspective. The webinar was hosted by Professor Tim Briggs, Chair of Getting it Right First Time (“GIRFT”) and Mike Hutton, GIRFT clinical lead for spinal surgery, and contributed to by several clinicians involved in its development.
