What a year!
We started off with a new CEO Simon Rhodes who’s brought us new ideas and helped us to grow, and then we celebrated the appointment of Alex Troup KC and Lucy Reed KC becoming King’s Counsel. In addition, Ben Handy and Zoe Saunders were sworn in as Recorders by Mrs Justice Cutts at Bristol Crown Court. The Legal 500 shortlisted us as ‘Set of the Year’ (outside of London) for the second year running.
Our Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence Clerking team won ‘Team of the Year 2023’ by Bristol Law Society and our Family & Divorce team were voted ‘Regional Family Law Chambers of the Year’ at Family Law Awards 2023 in London.
Beatrice Baskett, Georgina Swinglehurst and Ben Harwood successfully completed their specialist pupillages, and have joined Chambers as full tenants. In addition, our three new pupils Chelsea Bartlett, Nicole Hilton and Sarah Riley started in October 2023, in our Family, Personal Injury & Clinical Negligence and Commercial & Chancery practice groups.
£1,500 was raised from our obstetrics conference and has been donated to Bliss, supporting parents and families of premature or sick babies. We then raised a further £1,500 from our catastrophic injury conference which has been donated to Headway, Bristol.
