Very prepared, willing to go the extra mile to reach a conclusion for the client, persistent, a confident advocate. Asha has a lovely manner with clients and explains things very clearly throughout the hearing.”

Legal 500 2021, Family and Children Law

Asha is regularly instructed in private law proceedings from the initial stages through to fact finding and final hearings and enforcement proceedings.

She acts for parents, extended family members and children (separately or by their guardians) in cases involving allegations of domestic abuse (including coercive control), alienating behaviours (parental alienation), substance misuse and abuse of children. Asha is also experienced in cases where one party wishes to relocate, either within the jurisdiction or overseas.

Asha’s approach in these cases is to reduce conflict as much as possible and to find a solution that all parties can live with. Where matters need to be contested, Asha is known for her thorough trial preparation and strong advocacy.  Her expertise in care proceedings is invaluable in matters relating to evidence, disclosure (including police disclosure and mobile phone extraction), covert recording and interpretation of drug and alcohol testing.

Asha is also regularly instructed in proceedings involving injunctive relief under Part IV Family Law Act 1996 for non-molestation and occupation orders and Domestic Violence Protection Orders under the Crime and Security Act 2010.

Client Quotes

I am of course completely overwhelmed and over the moon by the outcome. Ms Groves represented me extremely well, understanding the case completely. I am so pleased that I chose her as my barrister and I would highly her to anyone with child matters. Ms Groves has changed mine and [the child]’s life for the better which I will be eternally grateful for.”
