Charles has advised and represented enterprises in respect of prospective and ongoing proceedings in the County Court and High Court on a wide range of matters with a commercial element.
In addition to being experienced in delivering direct legal advice, Charles has developed his complimentary costs knowledge with a view to assisting his clients achieve commercially sensible strategic outcomes, whether in the presentation of initial advice or in the context of alternative dispute resolution.
Recent cases include:
- B2B claim concerning alleged oral variation to commercial services agreement in the context of various prohibitory clauses.
- Claim brought under rr. 27A-F of the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.
- Claim concerning an alleged unfair relationship under sections 140A – 140C of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.
- Application for liability order for unpaid national non-domestic rates in respect of large commercial premises comprising multiple business occupiers.
- High-value construction contract dispute concerning implication of commercial terms, exclusion clauses and breach.
