The Legal 500 2025, Divorce and Financial Remedy

Georgina is a specialist family law barrister who acts in all areas of private family law, specifically financial remedy proceedings, private children disputes, issues of jurisdiction including international child relocation, cohabitation disputes and applications under the FLA 1996 (domestic violence).

Georgina is ranked in the Legal 500 as a “Rising Star (Tier 1)” in both financial remedy and children matters. She has been described as being wise beyond her years, excellent with clients in the most difficult situations, having an in-depth knowledge of the law and being a fierce opponent in court, with advocacy skills that help to secure the best outcome for her clients. Georgina regularly appears against significantly more senior barristers at leading family chambers.

Georgina assisted on cases in the High Court and Court of Appeal, including Hudson v Hathway [2022] EWCA Civ 1648 during her pupillage under the supervision of Zoë Saunders, and has since appeared in the High Court herself regularly. Georgina was also instructed in the case of WX v HX [2023] EWFC 279 in the pre-trail and committal hearing before the reported decision.

Prior to joining Chambers, Georgina worked at a leading London law firm in Mayfair, specialising in financial remedies and private children law for ultra-high net worth clients. The cases which Georgina assisted with had complex financial structures, often had an international element and either concerned pre-nuptial agreements or had substantial asset Part III claims.

Georgina has written for Family Law Week and recently gave a seminar to the Bristol Junior Lawyers Division. She will be providing a private law case update at our forthcoming family law conference, as well as appearing on the St John’s Family Law Pod soon.

Before deciding to pursue a career at the Bar, Georgina was a professional dressage rider, a member of the Junior/Young Rider Great Britain Dressage Squads and was selected for the British Equestrian Federation Talent Squad.

I would definitely recommend.”

Natalie Kemp, Senior Associate, Goughs Solicitors

I was thoroughly impressed with Georgina. She was extremely on top of things, very efficient in her drafting of documents and responding to any queries I had. I was on annual leave when the hearing took place so my colleague attended the hearing on my behalf. On my return Georgina had sent me a very helpful note outlining exactly what happened in the hearing and what next steps I needed to do which made things a great deal easier for me. I would 100% use Georgina again and would have no hesitation in recommending her to others.”

Victoria Tallis, Solicitor, Thrings

The amount of time and energy Georgina put into knowing every single detail of my case was amazing. Without her, especially in the FDR I’m not sure we’d have managed to get such a good outcome. I felt really in the loop, well represented and confident she could negotiate on my behalf in the knowledge she understood my position completely. She was incredibly professional throughout the process and I believe she got us that result at the FDR.”
