Jenny is regularly instructed at all stages of private children proceedings, including multiple day fact-finding hearings.

Jenny has been instructed in matters dealing with allegations of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, coercive and controlling behaviour, intractable hostility, mental health issues and substance abuse.

She has acted in matters involving disputes regarding specific issues such as education and travel abroad.

Jenny has also represented applicants and respondents in relocation cases involving both Hague Convention and Non-Hague Convention countries.

Recent cases include:

  • Successfully represented a respondent opposing an international relocation, in circumstances where Cafcass supported relocation.
  • Successfully represented a respondent seeking findings of physical, emotional, economic and sexual abuse against the applicant. The court found all of the respondent’s allegations to be proven.

Jenny is a member of the Bar Council’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Panel.

Background

Prior to coming to the Bar, Jenny studied Law and French at the University of Bristol, which included a year studying French law at the University of Bordeaux. Jenny subsequently worked as Cabin Crew for Virgin Atlantic Airways, which provided invaluable life experience. She then completed the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) and achieved a grade of ‘Outstanding’ in Family Law, before working as a paralegal in the Children Law department of a firm on the Western Circuit. Whilst training, Jenny volunteered with the National Centre for Domestic Violence and taught debating to prisoners in HMP Pentonville as part of the Vocalise scheme. Jenny joins St John’s Chambers from 36 Family where she remains a Door Tenant.
