Who Should Attend?
Bristol Law Society in association with St John’s Chambers invite you to an online ‘lunch and learn’ webinar on personal injury law, with talks from James Hughes, Jonathan Lindfield & David Forster of our Personal Injury team.
The focus of this informal series will be to support junior lawyers at the early stages of their careers.
Topics include:
- The fundamentals of fundamental dishonesty: What you need to know
James will cover the essential law and practice in relation to fundamental dishonesty, and what you need to look out for from first instruction by the client up to and including trial. - Costly mistakes & mistakes about costs: Some less common portal issues and how to avoid them
Jonathan will focus on two important topics concerning claims utilising the low value EL/PL and RTA personal injury portals; namely the doctrine of mistake and its application to portal claims, and a review of the relevant costs provisions. - Care and assistance claims, what can be claimed and how
David will focus on care and assistance claims; what can be properly claimed, the appropriate rates and the evidence required.
